Northern Ireland leads surge in fuel prices since start of Iran war
Petrol has risen 19% and diesel 35%, while in England the north has had the sharpest increases
Guardian analysis of the Government's new Fuel Finder scheme, combined with historical snapshots from FuelCosts.co.uk, found that Northern Ireland has seen the fastest rise in UK fuel prices since the start of the Iran war — petrol up 19% and diesel up 35% since the end of February. The piece also highlights the north of England as the worst-hit English region and identifies around 100 mostly rural stations charging between 180p and 210p a litre for petrol.
